right, in the city where i live, there is this railway
bridge with a road under it. everytime it rains heavy, the
road floods, as its essentially a giant dip. everytime it
floods, without fail, some jackass manages to get their car
stuck in the middle and ends up on the front page of the
local paper. this is despite having warnings and markers for
high water. bah.

UK rain tends to lack extended shower periods. usually it
pours for about a minute or two and then it's just drizzle.
my mum confirms this heavy rain you speak of. we're having
an extended winter down here in the south of africa,
excellent showers. nice.
