i guess i did use it as a slur in this instance. so that wasn't good but... i try to talk about Zionism in general because so many people, liberals really, don't know about it (mostly don't want to know, of course). they want to think Palestine is some religious conflict. and 'very complicated' (it *is*, but also not). (just like how they don't know about Western colonialism, and how that's still ongoing) also i've seen it used as call-out in leftist circles. i've seen real life examples of Jews promoting inclusivity, while actually also supporting Zionism, who were then called out as 'Zionist'. but that's then done by antizionist Jews, which i'm not (but i picked it up from there a bit, too) conceding to your point: i do see the value of focusing on the actual government and ideas, instead of making Zionists or even Zionism the bad guy |
